jeff, ya know, here in ghetto side of san antonio, people really are POOR. my parents dont pay for much, especially not a ticket to something that isnt mandatory. but believe me, i really really wanted to go.
and do you know when we are getting our ACU shirts...i paid money for that thing.
and alex. yes i think i might be trying out for tenors, but i really dont want to leave bassline. i love my acu boys. and what the?! fetus' fetus? things and people are given nicknames to make it easier and more catchy to refer to them. 'fetus'caught on because its an awkward name for a top bass, and easier to say that 'stouts drum'. are we even getting a smaller one? if so, i will go into hybernation now and think of its name.

call it the stout. Because it's tiny, just like other things that have to do with stout.

Jess.... we would only call it "The Stout" if it were like.... I don't know.... 3 inches?
We were joking around with Pam since Bowers said something about 8 tenors, I said we needed at least 10 basses to compensate. And she said that she should try to get Yamaha to make a 12.... which would be called "The Embryo"

The Embryo. That's perfect.
Man, wouldn't it be great to have more bass drums than most college lines have snares? Heck, 10 bass drums is more drums than probably 80% of all high school drumlines have in their entire drumline. Oh hell yes.

I personally think that we need 12 bass drums and march 3 rows of 4.....that would be freaking sweet!

I would like to see what a piece of music would look like for a line of 12 basses. I wouldn't even know where to begin.
And to Dana...HELL YEAH FOR TENORS!!! The Purdue Q will be freekin sweet this year. We need another girl to try out since Kate won't be back.
Mason. If you want more pictures check thepurdueq.com I posted pictures from Minnesota and Wisconsin. Mostly tenors though... sorry.

each bass drum would probably play like one note every 2 measures if we had 12 basses, lol.......that would actually kind of suck....

I think that is one of the reasons why I like tenors so much. You get all the different pitches which the snares miss out on but you get to play all the notes and not just one out of 5 or 6 or however many basses there are. Plus in that trying to hit all those notes you get to have some pretty cool looking crossovers....Thus why tenors rock!

yeah, but if a tenor plays something really cool people clap...when a bassline plays something cool people are like "oh my god that is freaking sweet" and they yell and scream...(except for matt bowers)

AHH .... so this thread has 2 pages and I missed the little button that makes it go to the second page. I was going to suggest "The Embryo", but great minds seem to think alike. What would be smaller than that? The egg? Sperm? OOH! That's what you can call the tenor shot drums!

The technology is far superior in Halfrica than here in America.... so Marvin will have the unique ability to update the site more than TWICE a year.
