Has anyone talked about this yet?
I've done a little thinking. The three top possibilities are:
1. MSU (11/4/06) 2. NW (10/14/06) 3. IOWA (Coldest F-ing state EVER) (10/7/06)
Iowa would come at the end of 5 straight performance weeks, assuming the band is going to ND this year, however it is also October break weekend (ideal time for a trip). Approx. 6 hr. drive each way, tickets are $48 each and, I just found out, are sold out for the Purdue game, so unless we could somehow get enough from Purdue's allotment for all of us to go, Iowa is pretty much out.
NW is the week after the Iowa game and the week before a two game home stretch. Approx. 2-3 hr. drive each way, tickets at $50 in the stands and $30 in the endzone. The only advantage NW has over MSU is that it might be easier to get a big group of tickets, as well, no one cares about NW football and their coach is dead...sorry.
MSU is the first weekend in November and will be cold. Purdue's ticket office has tickets on sale now for $46. Approx 5-6 hr drive. The last time we played there Kyle Orton single handedly DESTROYED the spartans as I know Joe remembers first hand.
So let me, and each other, know what you think. The way these things work is the sooner the better, but I ain't putting it on my credit card this time...that was major bullnuts. haha

I just heard from the Purdue Ticket office that they have approx. 150 tickets for the Iowa game left as of today and they are $48 each. Even though this game is all but a guaranteed loss, the game that a few of us attended in 2002 was one to remember. If Kirsch could almost get it done then in his first start, my optomistic-undefeated-every-year-way-of-thinking tells me that Painter is the Man to get it done. Plus, as I mentioned, it's october break...great weekend for a trip.
Now it's up to you. If you wanna go, GET ON IT, 'cause I'm not waiting forever to get tickets. If you wanna sit with people you know, get your nuts together....oh my, I swear this censor thing never gets old.
;D

I say iowa first, msu second, and northwestern a VERY distant third. I remember the last game at MSU like it was the most incredible Purdue football moment I've ever seen....mainly cuz it was. But their set up is pretty cool, tailgating should be prime, and it shouldn't be too warm (alright, it'll be cold as heck, but there's coats and liquid warming substances that can take care of that). Northwesten....yeah, it's crappy. If we can get tickets to Iowa, awesome, but it might be rough to get people together to get tickets before school starts.
So yeah, if we can do Iowa, awesome, make it happen, if not, MSU should be pretty awesome too (and we have a better chance of winning)

count me in for a trip, i never got invited to the last one. thanks guys. :-P if you need me to put it on my credit card i can take care of it, but i'll need to know how many tickets!! i don't know if we can get it together befroe school starts. but if you guys talk it up at band camp we could get it before the end of that week. (personally, i'm just goign for the tailgating. so my vote is on the place with the best drinking before hand) oh yeah!! and i just went and bought my vouchers for the home games yesterday, so i'm set to go for this season!!!

Hey Guys!! I would REALLY REALLy want to go to MSU for a couple of reasons.
1. It is one of 3 Big Ten stadiums I have yet to go to. 2. I have been invited to see the N.O. Saints (with 5 former boilers) the Sunday after the Iowa game and it will be a little hard to make it to both.
NU would work but blah...
Those are my two cents

hey, if you guys are going to MSU or Iowa, i'd love to tag along. if it ends up being MSU, my grandma lives in detroit if we wanted to drive over from east lansing and stay the night, she'd love to have company. and she'd feed you.
in any case, whoever ends up buying the block of tickets, please please buy me one, i can come up the first or second weekend of school and pay you.
and hey, shameless plug, if anyone is going to be in indy on wednesday august 9th, come to state fair band day and check out the kids I'm teaching this summer, Noblesville HS.

Ok, so tickets for Iowa are most likely going to be gone by the end of next week, meaning MSU sounds like a good trip. That way all the new kiddies can become cool the first two weeks of school and jump on before we get a block of tickets. I don't know for sure how many tickets Purdue has available for MSU, but my guess is that we'll be ok if we order by the second week of classes or so. Start recruiting for the trip

Someone could start a Facebook Event, and invite everyone to the MSU Trip and get them to RSVP and stuff. Those things are so cool --- mild sarcasm, but really, they do work.

And for the record, I hold Coach Walker in the highest respect and would never try to take away from what he has done at Northwestern as a coach....I just don't think they're going very far without him.....or Bassanay

Yes, Wiseman, but you also thought Kirsch would help the team win last year......

He did help them win....when he gave the ball over to Painter and declared for the draft. "Official Smily of Kirsch"

Kirsch was like the drunk and mildly retarded version of Brees

Damnit Andy do I always have to keep you in line!!! Kirsch never started at Iowa. Orton got a concussion and Kirsch came in but couldn't hit a wide open Stubblefield across the middle for the W! I thought we were going to Hawaii for the "Road Trip"?!?!
